About
Asian beauty, decoded
Dew Select is a Korean and Japanese beauty guide for shoppers in the United States. It exists because K-beauty and J-beauty are the most interesting skincare in the world and the hardest to shop: labels you cannot read, eight retailers with eight prices, and a thousand near-identical serums.
Three promises
- Decode it. Every product says what it does in one plain sentence, and the Korean or Japanese on the box is translated on the product page. The guides teach the vocabulary so you can read a label yourself: Korean labels, Japanese labels, SPF and PA.
- Find your fit. Describe what you want in your own words on the shop page, browse by concern, skin type or brand, or see what the ambassadors actually front. Never a ten-step wall: three to five things that suit you.
- Lowest price, one tap. Each product page lists every retailer we track with the price at each, lowest first, the best coupon code already counted, and a link to the exact product page. How the retailers compare.
How the catalogue is built
The products come from three sources: the Olive Young Global best-seller lists, which are the truest signal of what Koreans buy; YesStyle's beauty catalogue, filtered to products with real review volume; and our own hand-written selection of 140 classics across skin, hair, makeup and tools, including the Japanese drugstore icons. Each product's one-sentence explanation, key ingredients, skin-type fit and label translation are written and checked by us. Rankings on the best-seller and category pages follow Olive Young sales rank and verified review counts, never what pays us most.
How prices are collected
A script visits each retailer's product page (YesStyle, Stylevana, Jolse, Soko Glam, Amazon, Olive Young) and reads the current price; it runs nightly and the date of the last check is printed on every product page. Coupons we know are applied before ranking, so "lowest" means lowest after the code. Retailers change prices often, so the retailer page you land on is the final word.
How Dew Select makes money
When you buy through a link on Dew Select, the retailer may pay us a commission. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes the order products appear in: the lowest effective price is listed first, whoever pays us. We do not sell products, hold stock, take payment or accept paid placement, and no brand reviews our guides before they are published. Celebrity and creator pages describe public ambassador roles and imply no endorsement of Dew Select.
Who we are
Dew Select is published by Felixor Capital LLC in the United States and edited by people who have spent too much money on YesStyle. We write in plain English, explain every Korean and Japanese word we use, and never say "must-have". If something on the site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it: hello@dewselect.com.
The app
A free companion app for iPhone and Android adds a label scanner, a face and hair reading and a personalized routine. It is in review with the App Store and Google Play; the website works fully without it.
