What Dew Select collects

  • Your profile answers (how you describe yourself, your age, your skin type) stay on your phone. They are sent with a reading so the reading can compare your skin's appearance to your age, and are stored with that reading.
  • Selfies. When you choose to take a reading, the photo is sent once to our server, described by an AI model, and then discarded. We do not keep the photo. The written reading (scores, concerns, the words describing your skin and hair, an appearance age, a hair color description and a skin tone estimate) is stored on your phone and, tied to an anonymous account id, on our server so the app can build your routine.
  • Product photos and barcodes you scan are sent once to identify the product and are not kept.
  • An anonymous account. The app creates a random account id on first launch. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • Affiliate clicks. When you tap through to a retailer we record which product and retailer, tied to the anonymous id, so we can see what works. The retailer and its affiliate network then set their own cookies under their own policies.
  • Notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your phone. We do not send push notifications from a server.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your photo to train models.
  • We do not show ads.

Who processes data for us

Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in the United States) and Anthropic (the AI model that reads the photo, under a policy that does not retain inputs for training). Retailer affiliate networks receive the click when you tap Buy.

Your choices

Delete your readings at any time from Settings; this deletes them from your phone and asks our server to delete the copies tied to your anonymous id. Uninstalling the app removes everything on the phone. For any request, write to hello@dewselect.com.

Dew Select is for people aged 16 and over.
