The viral claim is that snail mucin heals acne and scars. The formula is 96% snail secretion filtrate, which is mostly water, glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid and a little allantoin. Those hydrate, soften and help a stressed barrier feel normal again. None of them exfoliate, kill bacteria or fade pigment. If you added it to fix breakouts, it was never going to, and the product is not at fault.

What it is good at is the boring part of good skin. Rough patches soften in a week or two because the surface is finally hydrated. Redness from over-exfoliating calms because you stopped exfoliating and gave the barrier something to hold water with. That is why dry, oily and sensitive skin all rate it the same: everyone is dehydrated sometimes.

Korean shoppers use it as an essence, the layer between toner and serum, on damp skin. TikTok often uses it as a serum on dry skin, which is where the tacky-texture complaints come from. Less product, wetter skin.
